Allen Thurber & Company Target Pistol

"Deluxe single-action target pistol. Chambered for .31- or .36-caliber percussion. Had heavy octagon barrel from 11"" to 16"" in length. Wooden ramrod mounted underneath barrel. Mountings were German silver. Detachable walnut stock. Deluxe engraved patchbox. Weapon was engraved and barrel marked, ""Allen Thurber & Co./Worchester/Cast Steel"". Firearm furnished in fitted case, with stock, false muzzle and various accessories. Considered to be a very high grade target pistol in its era. Very few manufactured in 1850s.
