Allen First Model Pocket Rifle

Manufactured by Ethan Allen in Grafton, Massachusetts. Percussion single-shot pistol with saw-handle grip, chambered for .31 percussion. Larger caliber versions have also been noted. Barrel lengths from 5" to 9" that were part-octagon in configuration. Iron mountings. Blued, with walnut grips. Barrel marked, "E. Allen/ Grafton/Mass." as well as "Pocket Rifle/Cast Steel/Warranted". Approximately 2,000 manufactured from 1831 to 1842.
