Allen & Wheelock Lipfire Army Revolver
Large military-type single-action revolver. Chambered for .44 lipfire cartridge. Had 7.5" half-octagon barrel, with 6-shot unfluted cylinder that had notches at its rear for cartridge lips. Finish blued. Case colored hammer and trigger guard. Square butt walnut grips. Barrel marked, "Allen & Wheelock, Worchester, Mass." Resembled Center Hammer Percussion Army Revolver. Two basic variations. Total of 250 Lipfire Army Revolvers manufactured in early 1860s. Early model with top hinged loading gate, add 10% premium
