Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Belt Revolver

Single-action revolver chambered for .34-caliber percussion. Octagon barrel from 3" to 7.5" in length. Featured a hammer mounted on right side of frame and 5-shot engraved unfluted cylinder. Cylinder access pin is inserted from rear of weapon. Finish blued. Case colored hammer and trigger guard. Flared butt walnut grips. Marked, "Allen & Wheelock". Two basic types. Values for early model, of which 100 manufactured between 1858 and 1861.
