Unique rifle chambered for .36- to .50-caliber percussion. Offered with various lengths and part-octagon barrels. Unusual breech mechanism that was activated by a rotating lever, which resembled a water faucet. Barrel browned. Case colored lock and walnut stock. Marked, "Allen & Wheelock/ Allen's Patent July 3, 1855". Approximately 500 manufactured between 1855 and 1860.
