Confederate Enfield-Type Rifle

.58-caliber percussion rifle, with 32.5" barrel and full stock secured by two iron barrel bands. Finished in white brass, trigger guard and buttplate on walnut stock. Lockplate marked "Asheville, N.C." Approximately 300 made in 1862 and 1863. As with many confederate arms, values are speculative due to extreme rarity. Expert consultation advised.
