Bergmann Simplex

Simplex combined some features of 1896 pistols. Improvements developed from "Mars", resulting in a reasonable compact pocket pistol that came on the market in early 1900s. Chambered for unique Bergmann-Simplex 8mm cartridge, however, competition from better Browning and other designs doomed it to a short production life. Very early examples had checkered wood grips and bring a premium, as do very late examples (above serial 3000) that have magazine release behind magazine instead of on front of frame.
