Underhammer Pistol - ("Buggy Rifle")

Pistol is somewhat different than most under hammers encountered. Barrels are 12" to 18" in length. Heavy octagonal construction. Chambered from .30- to .38-caliber and utilize percussion ignition system. Higher grade versions feature a part-round barrel. Important to note that no two pistols are alike. These pistols were furnished with detachable shoulder stocks and a good many were cased with telescopic sights and false muzzles. This is a high quality weapon; if encountered with optional accessories, it would definitely warrant an individual appraisal. This firearm was manufactured in 1850s and 1860s. NOTE: Add 50 percent for shoulder stock.
