BUSHMASTER FIREARMS INTERNATIONAL
Location: Carson City, Nevada
In 2006, Bushmaster was purchased by Freedom Group, parent company of Remington, Marlin/H&R, DPMS, Para USA and Dakota Arms. In 2011, Bushmaster plant in Maine was closed and production moved to Remington facility in Ilion, New York and later to Huntsville, Alabama. Parent Remington Outdoor Company announced it would no longer produce Bushmaster products in January 2020. In September 2020, Remington itself declared bankruptcy in 2020 and its assets were dispersed to various competitors. The Bushmaster trademarks were sold to Crotalus Holdings Inc. of Minden, Nevada. The Bushmaster brand restarted production under new ownership in August 2021 in Carson City, Nevada. Familiar offerings are variants of the XM15-E2S and M4 models and updated QRC II, ORC II, and M4A2 Patrolman’s nameplates.
