Caliber: 5.56 NATO. X1 is not a single model, but a family of rifles that will include several barrel lengths, including 8” PDW versions, 10.3″, 11.5″, 12.5″, 14.5″, 16-inch, and 18” variants. Developed through Project Hunter in collaboration with British Special Forces, X1 has an IR-defeating Cerakote coating system, carbon-fiber barrel sleeve to reduce thermal signature. DD4-style receiver with ambidextrous controls, including bolt catch/release, magazine release, and safety selector. Combat trigger with 5-6 pound pull. Uses four-screw mounting system instead of traditional barrel nut. Barrel extension has integrated flange that bolts directly to the proprietary receiver for increased rigidity. DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating reduces need for heavy lubrication. Internal-piston gas system. (Late 2026).
