Civilian Model

Chambered for .35- or .41-caliber percussion. Has a 4" octagonal barrel, with 7.5"-10" knife blade, round trigger guard, but does not have knuckle bow across the grip, as found on military model. Marked "C.B. Allen Springfield, Mass." Blades marked "N.P. Ames" have been noted. Approximately 100 manufactured in 1837.
