Have an open-topped frame. Chambered for .28-caliber. Cylinder holds 5- or 6-shots. Hammer is of the bar type. Offered with 2.5" or 3" barrel. Markings are "J. Ells; Patent; 1854". Approximately 625 manufactured between 1857 and 1859.
