Has a buttstock that covers both top and bottom of rotary magazine, with an exposed portion in middle of the butt. Buttplate does not have backward appearance and barrel marked "Evans Repeating Rifle Mechanic Falls Me./Pat Dec. 8, 1868 & Sept. 16, 1871". This version manufactured in 1876 and 1877. Serial numbered between 500-2185, for a total of approximately 1,650 manufactured.
