GARAND
Location: (U.S. M-1 Rifle)
This was the standard issue rifle for U.S. military services from 1936 to 1957. In .30-06 caliber, it is a gas-operated semi-automatic, fed by an 8-round clip that is inserted in the open action from above. Garand series was made in several variants and manufactured by many different companies over its 20 years of service. A complete history of John Garand's great rifle, see Standard Catalog of Military Firearms, published by Gun Digest Books/Krause Publications. Prices shown below are for rifles in original, unaltered condition. Many rifles seen on today's market have been re-stored or re-finished and values should be reduced from 30 to 50 percent.
