A .32-, .38- or .44-caliber centerfire double-action revolver, with 2.5", 4.5" or 6" round or octagonal barrel, 5- or 6-shot fluted cylinder depending on caliber. Solid frame nickel-plated, with some blue models noted. Grips are hard rubber. Marked "The American Double Action." Some noted are marked "H&R Bulldog". Approximately 850,000 manufactured between 1883 and 1940. NOTE: Add 150 percent for .44.
