Introduced in 1888; discontinued during 1915. Like its predecessor, introduced in same seven grades, Quality A through Quality F. Later Quality F was discontinued. By 1900 a "condensed steel" barreled model named Quality X was introduced. New Ithaca Gun was produced in gauges 10-, 12-, 16- and very rarely 20-gauge. Lower grade models carried logo "New Ithaca Gun" usually within a banner on each side of frame. Like its predecessor, grades above Quality B are seldom encountered and an expert appraisal is recommended. 16-gauge guns command a 30 percent price premium. Extremely rare 20-gauge model requires an expert appraisal.
