Early Bulldog Type Revolvers

Three different solid-frame double-action models made 1878-1899: American Eagle, small frame .22 rimfire, med. frame .32 rimfire, large frame .38 rimfire; American Bulldog, small frame .22 rimfire, med. frame .32 RF or CF, large frame .38 RF or CF, extra large frame .44 CF (worth premium), with 2” to 6” barrels. Not always marked American Bulldog, trade names included Old Hickory, Lion, British Bulldog, and others. First Models (1882-1886) and Second Models (1887-1899) are recognized by collectors. Boston Bulldog, lightweight version of the American Bulldog in .22 RF, .32 CF, or .38 CF.
