Muzzleloading Rifle

Chambered for .58-caliber and utilizes percussion ignition system. Has 33" barrel and full-length oak stock held on by two barrel bands. Ramrod mounted under barrel made of iron. All other trim is brass. A bayonet lug at muzzle. Rifle was made for Confederacy and workmanship was crude, as it was on most CSA weapons. Stock marked "H.C.Lamb & Co., N.C." Supposedly 10,000 rifles ordered, but approximately 250 manufactured between 1861 and 1863. Rarity of guns of Confederacy gives them a great deal of collector appeal.
