Ballard Hunters Rifle

Resembles earlier Brown Manufacturing Company rifles. Utilizes many leftover parts acquired by Marlin. Chambered for .32, .38 and .44 rimfire and centerfire. Features John Marlin's unique reversible firing pin that allows same gun to use both rimfire and centerfire ammunition simply by rotating firing pin in breech-block. Model still had external ejector and bears J.M. Marlin markings. Approximately 500 manufactured in 1 to 500 serial range. Produced in 1875 and 1876.
