Model 1897 Lever-Action Rifle
Improved version of Model 1892. Chambered for .22 rimfire only. Came standard with: 24", 26" or 28" round, octagonal or part-round, part-octagonal barrel; buckhorn rear and blade front sights; all were manufactured as take-down rifles. Case colored receiver, lever and hammer. Rest is blued. Walnut stock varnished. Approximately 125,000 manufactured between 1897 and 1917. In 1922, production began with designation changed to "Model 39" which is produced to this day. There were options offered with this rifle that have great effect on value. Take this into consideration and seek qualified appraisal.
