Pocket Pistol

A successor to Andrew Fryberg & Sons, Meriden made guns for Sears and other mail-order catalogs approx.1905-1918. In addition to shotguns, they made .32 and .38 double-action top-break revolvers in both exposed hammer and concealed hammer models. Some sources list these revolvers produced as early as 1895, possibly by Fryberg. They were sold under a wide variety of trade names including Secret Service Special, Eastern Arms, New England Firearms, Federal Fire Arms, and Howard Arms Co. Other manufacturers also made revolvers for Sears using some of these same trade names, even if the gun had a different configuration. Some of the design features that help identify some but not all of the Meriden-made revolvers include sharp angle on grip backstrap knuckle (hammerless models), ""Napoleon hat"" front sight on some, hard rubber grips with blank logo circle at top, and large serif font s/n on butt."
