.50-caliber single-shot bolt-action carbine, with 20" round barrel, walnut half-stock and full sidelock. Blued and case-hardened. Receiver marked "Wm. Palmer / Patent / Dec.22, 1863" and lock "G.Lamson & Co./ Windsor, Vt." Approximately 1,000 made in 1865.
