Army Model Revolver
Large single-action revolver. Chambered for .42-caliber cup-primed cartridge that loads from front of cylinder. Barrel length 6" and octagonal form with rib. Frame made of brass or iron. Finish blued, with walnut or rosewood grips. Interchangeable percussion cylinders also made for these revolvers. If present, values would be increased approximately 30 percent. Revolver was marketed by Merwin & Bray. Approximately 1,500 of 1st and 2nd Models manufactured; 10,000 of 3rd Model in 1860s.
