9-shot vertical cylinder .44-caliber rifle, with 26" or 28" octagonal barrel. Only markings are "Address P.W. Porter/New York". Four variations of this rifle known. The 22" barreled carbine would command 25 percent premium. Approximately 1,250 manufactured during 1850s.

Memphis Model with Canister Magazine
Fitted with a 30-shot round canister magazine over turret. Made in Tennessee and extremely rare. Most often canisters are not encountered and values reflect this. Approximately 25 made..40 caliber. Very rare. Values are extremely speculative. Add premium for intact cylindrical cannister magazine mounted above the turret magazine (total capacity 38 rounds).
