Paul Goodwin photo
A .44-caliber percussion revolver, with 8" octagonal barrel and 6-shot cylinder. Loading lever cut with a slot so that cylinder pin can be drawn forward without lever being lowered. Blued case-hardened, with walnut grips. Barrel marked "Patented Dec. 17, 1861 Manufactured by Remington's, Ilion, N.Y.". Some examples were converted to .46-caliber rimfire cartridge and would be worth approximately 25 percent more than original martially marked standard percussion model. Approximately 12,000 manufactured in 1862. This model also known as "Old Army Model".
