A .46 or .50 rimfire single-shot rolling block carbine, with 20" barrel. Blued case-hardened, with walnut stock. Tang marked "Remington's Ilion, N.Y. Pat. Dec. 23, 1863 May 3 & Nov. 16, 1864". The .50-caliber version worth approximately 15 percent more than .46-caliber. Approximately 15,000 .50-caliber variations were made, most of which were sold to France. Approximately 5,000 carbines were made in .46-caliber. Manufactured from 1864 to 1866.
