Remington-Rider Double-Action Belt Revolver

Double-action .36-caliber percussion revolver, with 6.5" octagonal barrel marked "Manufactured by Remington's, Ilion, N.Y. Rider's Pt. Aug. 17, 1858, May 3, 1859". Blued or nickel-plated case-hardened, with walnut grips. Also found converted to cartridge and such examples would be worth approximately 20 percent less than values listed below. Several hundred of this model were made with fluted cylinders and are worth a premium of about 25 percent. Approximately 5,000 made between 1863 and 1873. Cased gun w/ accessories described as "finest known" reported sold by Rock Island Auction for T40,250 in 2018.
