At the request of United States Boy Scouts in 1913, Remington Company designed a military style rifle having a 28" barrel and full-length fore-end secured by one barrel band. A short upper hand guard was also fitted and a bayonet stud is found at the muzzle. In 1915, designation of this model was changed from "Boy Scout" to "Military Model". Approximately 15,000 manufactured between 1913 and 1923.

No. 6 Falling Block Rifle

Lightweight small rifle designed expressly to be used by young boys. Chambered for .22 rimfire cartridge, as well as .32 Short or Long. Also produced with smoothbore barrel to be used with shot cartridges. Round barrel 20" in length. Has a take-down action, with barrel held on by a knurled knob underneath the frame. It is a lightweight rolling block, with a thin operating knob on the breech. Finish is blued overall. Early models featured case colored frame and these versions would be worth approximately 10 percent additional. Has a straight-grip walnut stock, with a small forearm. Over 250,000 manufactured between 1902 and 1903.
