Carbine

This weapon was manufactured for use by Confederate States of America and is extremely collectible. This muzzle-loading carbine chambered for .58-caliber percussion. Has a 25" round barrel and full-length stock that is held on by two barrel bands. Manufactured from parts that were captured at Harper's Ferry Armory in 1861. Locks are marked "Richmond, VA" and dated from 1861 to 1865. There are sling swivels in front of trigger guard and on the front barrel band; a third swivel is on the underside of buttstock. Quantity manufactured is not known. Made between 1861 and 1865. Rare. Values are speculative.
