Oldest firearms manufacturing firm in Germany. Founded in 1751 in Suhl. During this period the company produced high quality handguns and long guns. In 1938, it introduced a new double-action semi-automatic pistol, Sauer 38H. Pistol had the first decocking lever ever used on a mass produced pistol. In 1951, company relocated to Eckernfoerde where it continued to produce high quality firearms. NOTE: Model 90 Supreme and Model 202 have been imported by SIGARMS Inc. Sauer USA in San Antonio, Texas is current importer. Sauer firearms have also been sold by Colt (rifles), Charles Daly (shotguns), and Weatherby (rifles).
