Figure 8 Revolver
A .36-caliber percussion revolver with 7" octagonal barrel and 6-shot cylinder. Barrel marked "E. Savage, Middletown. CT./H.S. North. Patented June 17, 1856". Four models of this revolver are: (1) with a rounded brass frame and mouths of the chamber fitting into the end of barrel breech; (2) with a rounded iron frame and modified loading lever that is marked "H.S. North, Patented April 6, 1858"; (3) with a flat-sided brass frame having a round recoil shield; (4) with an iron frame. Approximately 400 manufactured between 1856 and 1859. A very rare .28 caliber "Pocket Model" will bring a substantial premium.
