.320 Revolving Rifle

Model is a rare and unique prize to a S&W collector. Revolving Rifle chambered for .320 S&W Revolving Rifle cartridge. Has a 6-shot fluted cylinder. Offered with 16", 18" and 20" barrel. Only 76 rifles are nickel plated and remainder of production are blued. Butt rounded, with mottled red hard rubber checkered grips and forearm of the same material. Detachable shoulder stock, with black hard rubber buttplate featuring S&W logo. Rifle furnished in a leather carrying case, with accessories. As fine a firearm as this was, it was a commercial failure for S&W, which finally came to the realization the public did not want a revolving rifle. It manufactured only 977 of them between 1879 and 1887. Note: Values are for a complete unit. Deduct 40% without stock. Add 10% for 16" or 20" barrels.
