Gem Pocket Pistol

Single-shot derringer-type pocket pistol. Chambered for .22 or .30 rimfire cartridges. Has a 3" part-octagonal barrel that pivots to side for loading, nickel-plated brass frame, with blued or plated barrel and bird's-head grips made of walnut or rosewood. Barrel marked "Gem". Stevens name or address does not appear on this firearm. Approximately 4,000 manufactured between 1872 and 1890.
