SR-556
Introduced 2009. AR-style semi-automatic chambered in 5.56 NATO. Features include two-stage piston; quad rail hand guard; Troy Industries sights; black synthetic fixed or telescoping buttstock; 16.12" 1:9 steel barrel with birdcage; 10- or 30-round detachable box magazine; black matte finish overall. The 6.8 PPC was added in 2010, but discontinued after one year. Discontinued 2016. In 2019, only the Takedown model 5924 was still listed on the company website. Replaceable barrel kits chambered in .300 AAC Blackout (90455) are available on ShopRuger.com, $450.
