Hooded Cylinder Pocket Revolver

An unusual revolver chambered for .28-caliber percussion. Has a manually rotated 6-shot hooded cylinder that has etched decorations. Octagonal barrel in lengths of 3" to 6". A button at the back of frame unlocks cylinder so it can be rotated. Finish blued, with brass frame and two-piece rounded walnut grips. Marked "E. Whitney N. Haven Ct.". Approximately 200 manufactured between 1850 and 1853.
