Rimfire Pocket Revolver

Spur-trigger single-action solid-frame pocket revolver. Produced in three frame sizes, depending on caliber. Chambered for .22, .32 and .38 rimfire cartridges. Frame brass and found in a variety of finishes- nickel-plated or blued, or a combination thereof. Bird's-head grips are rosewood or hard rubber; ivory or pearl grips are sometimes encountered and will bring a slight premium in value. Octagon barrels 1.5" to 5" and marked "Whitneyville Armory Ct. USA". Also noted with trade names "Monitor", "Defender" or "Eagle". Commonly referred to as Model No. 1, No. 1.5, Model 2 or Model 2.5. Values for all are quite similar. Approximately 30,000 manufactured of all types between 1871 and 1879.
