Lever-action repeating rifle chambered for .45-70 Government cartridge. There are three variations. All have a magazine tube mounted beneath the barrel. Blued finishes and walnut stocks. Barrels marked "G. W. Morse Patented Oct. 28th 1856". Tang marked "A. Burgess Patented Jan. 7th, 1873, Patented Oct 19th 1873". Approximately 3,000 totally manufactured between 1878 and 1882.
