Single-shot breech-loader chambered for .44 rimfire cartridge. Also been noted as a shotgun chambered for 20-gauge smoothbore, with barrels from 30" to 40" in length. Rifle version barrel lengths from 22" to 28". Breech-block opened by means of a combination lever and trigger guard. Also a carbine version with barrel lengths of 18.5" or 19". Approximately 2,000 manufactured totally between 1866 and 1870.
