Winchester imported an English-made shotgun sold under the Winchester name between 1879 and 1884. Available in 10- and 12-gauge, with 30" or 32" Damascus barrels. Sold in five separate grades referred to as "classes". Lowest grade was "D" and best grade called "Match Grade". They were marked on the sidelocks. Center rib was stamped "Winchester Repeating Arms Co., New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.". Prices shown are for "D" grade. About 10,000 of these guns were imported by Winchester. NOTE: Add 10 percent for "C" grade; 20 percent for "B" grade; 30 percent for "A" grade.
