Model 63
Model 63 took the place of Model 1903. In 1933, Winchester attempted to solve the problem of having to use a special .22-caliber cartridge to operate the blowback system. It is a very high quality semi-automatic rifle. Many collectors and shooters considered it the best rimfire semi-automatic rifle ever produced. Chambered for .22 LR cartridge. Available in a 20" barrel for the first four years or until about serial number 9800. Thereafter, offered with a 23" round barrel for remainder of the production period. Fitted with a plain walnut pistol-grip stock and forearm. Tubular magazine was located in the buttstock that came with a steel buttplate. Last 10,000 Model 63s were sold with a grooved receiver top to make the addition of a scope easier. Manufactured between 1933 and 1958, with about 175,000 guns sold. NOTE: Add 20 percent premium for grooved top receivers.
