Model 100

Gas-operated semi-automatic chambered for .243-, .308- and .284-caliber cartridges. First commercial Winchester self-loading centerfire rifle made since Winchester Model 1905, Model 1907 and Model 1910. These models were produced until 1936-37. Winchester did produce the M1 Carbine during WWII. Available in a rifle version, with 22" round barrel; carbine version, with 19" barrel. Both furnished with a detachable box magazine. Stock was a one-piece design, with pistol-grip offered in hand-cut checkering or pressed basket weave checkering. Rifles introduced in 1960; carbine in 1967. Model 100 last produced in 1973. About 263,000 sold.
