Volcanic Firearms (New Haven Arms Company)
In 1857, New Haven Arms Company was formed to continue production of the former Volcanic Repeating Arms Company. Volcanic firearms continued to be built, but were now marked on the barrel, "NEW HAVEN, CONN. PATENT FEB. 14, 1854". New Haven produced a Number One model in .31 caliber with 3.5" barrel and a Model Two in .41 caliber with 6" barrel. Both were similar to the S&W and Volcanic Repeating Arms designs, and both had square butts.
