Single shot patterned after original Model 1885, designed by John Browning. Over the years, the Hunter has been offered in most modern centerfire rimless calibers from .223, to .45-70 including most belted magnums and WSMs. Stock is checkered walnut. Blued, sightless 28" octagon barrel, with Pachmayr pad. Weight 8.5 lbs. Versions will be encountered with blued or case-hardened receivers. Note: Add $270 for Traditional High Wall Hunter with tang sights, case hardened receiver in .45-70 or .38-55.
Introduced in 1999 in .22 LR and .17 Mach 2, today’s Hunter Rimfire is chambered in .17 HMR, .17 WSM, .22 LR and .22 WMR. Fitted with 24" octagon barrel, with iron sights, drilled and tapped for tang sight and scope mounts. Blued metal, walnut stock. Weight 7.5 lbs. Grade I and High Grade versions were offered from 1999-2001. Note: Deduct about half for earlier Grade I and 25% for High Grade from prices below. Past centerfire Low Wall versions offered in select calibers from .204 to 6.5x55 including .22 Hornet.
Similar to Model 1885 High Wall Hunter, with premium wood and gold inlay on receiver. Commemorates centennial of .30-06 cartridge. Introduced 2006.
High Wall with case-colored receiver, blued Badger half round, half octagon 30" barrel in .45-70, oil-finished Grade III/IV walnut Creedmoor-style stock and Schnabel forearm. Sights included Soule windage-style Creedmoor vernier rear sight and spirit level front sight with multiple apertures. Offered in 2009. Add $400 if sights are present.
