A .577-caliber single-shot percussion rifle, with 39" round barrel secured by three barrel bands. Lock marked "Windsor". Rifles of this pattern were contracted for/by the British Government. Lock and barrel finished in white brass furniture and walnut stock. Approximately 16,000 made from 1855 to 1858.
