First Model Derringer

Small all-metal single-shot. Chambered for .41 rimfire cartridge. The 2.5" barrel pivots to left and downward for loading. Model engraved with a scroll pattern and been noted blued, silver or nickel-plated. Barrel stamped "Colt's Pt. F.A. Mfg. Co./Hartford Ct. U.S.A/ No.1". ".41 Cal." stamped on frame under release catch. Approximately 6,500 manufactured from 1870-1890. First single-shot pistol Colt produced.
