First slide-action rifle Colt produced. Chambered for .32-20, .38-40 and .44-40. Intended to be a companion piece to SAAs in same calibers. Has a 26" barrel with 15-shot tube magazine; carbine 20" barrel with 12-shot magazine. Finish blued, with case colored hammer; walnut stock is oil-finished; fore-end usually checkered. Colt name and Hartford address stamped on barrel along with patent dates. Approximately 89,777 manufactured between 1884 and 1902.
