London Model 1851 Navy Revolver
These revolvers are physically similar to U.S.-made model. Exception, barrel address reads "Address Col. Colt. London" and British proof-marks stamped on barrel and cylinder. There were 42,000 made between 1853 and 1857. They have their own serial number range #1-#42,000. There are two major variations of London Navy. Again, a serious purchaser would be well advised to seek qualified appraisal as fakes have been noted.
1st Model
Serial #1-#2,000, with a small round brass trigger guard and grip frame. Squareback guard worth a 40 percent premium.

Serial #2,001-#42,000, steel grip frame and large round triggerguard. Martial variations that bring premiums include British War Department (W.D. marked with broad arrow), Austrian Kriegs Marine (K.M. marked) and Upper Canada or Lower Canada (UC or LC marked).
