Model 1860 Army Revolver

Third most produced of Colt percussion handguns. Primary revolver used by Union Army during Civil War. Colt delivered 127,156 of these revolvers to be used during those hostilities. It is a 6-shot .44-caliber percussion revolver. Either 7.5" or 8" round barrel, with an attached loading lever. Frame, hammer and loading lever are case colored; barrel and cylinder blued. Trigger guard, front strap are brass; back-strap blued steel. Grips are one-piece walnut. Early models have barrels stamped "Address Saml. Colt Hartford Ct.". Later models stamped "Address Col. Saml. Colt New-York U.S. America". "Colt's/Patent" stamped on left side of frame; ".44 Cal." on trigger guard. Cylinder is roll engraved with naval battle scene. Between 1860 and 1873, Colt manufactured 200,500 of these 1860 Army Revolvers. London marked 1860 Army revolvers bring similar prices to standard production.
