Model 1883 Double-Barrel Shotgun

A hammerless boxlock, chambered for 8-, 10- or 12-gauge. Barrels are 28", 30" or 32"; features double triggers. Frame and furniture are case colored; barrels browned with Damascus pattern. Checkered walnut stock is varnished or oil-finished. Colt's Hartford address stamped on barrel rib. "Colt" stamped on each side of frame. Again, as in Model 1878, this is rated as one of the finest of all American-made shotguns. There were many special orders and they require individual appraisal. Colt manufactured 7,366 of these guns between 1883 and 1895. NOTE: Add 300 percent for fully engraved model; 200 percent for 8-gauge. Higher grades bring higher values.
