Made in several barrel lengths: 2.5", 3", 3.5", 4", 4.75" and 7.5". The 2.5" and 7.5" guns are very rare and can bring premiums of 25 to 50 percent, depending on condition. Most have 4" barrels. Features no ejector rod or housing and frame is made without the hole in right forward section to accommodate ejector assembly. Sheriff's or Storekeeper's Model is numbered above serial #73000. Manufactured with various finishes and chambered for numerous calibers. This model continued after 1898 into smokeless or modern era. Examples with smokeless-powder frame made after 1898 are worth approximately 20 percent less. Although faking this model is quite difficult, it has been successfully attempted. NOTE: Nickel models will command a premium.
